1. COOROW MAIN STREET AND LEEMAN & ACTIVATION WORKSHOP
A community workshops held on the 17th February 2022, delivered by Town Team Movement and allowed the participants to share their ideas and enthusiasm on various community projects. The session was then followed by a Q&A. Following on from these workshops, support and action teams will be formed to bring the projects to life. These projects will be a benefit to the whole of the community and will attract visitors interest to come see our great little towns. Thank you to all community who attended the workshop and if you have materials you would like to donate such as a windmills, garden sculptures etc. to the community project, please get in touch with Ayu Orma at cdo@coorow.wa.au.


2. THANK A VOLUNTEER DAY 2022 - Leeman and Green Head
Thank a Volunteer Day 2022 event were also held for the towns of Leeman and Green Head on 23rd February 2022. Awards presented by Cr Glen Heales, congratulations to the 2022 Volunteer Community Award recipients for Leeman and Green Head:

Our thanks to Leeman Country & Sporting Club Committee - Glenda, Graeme, Tammy, Mark and Renee for facilitating us with such a great venue and the lovely ladies from Leeman & Green Head CRC who prepared the delicious meals on the night.

3. AUSTRALIA DAY BREAKFAST AND COMMUNITY AWARDS 2022
Great turn out to the annual Australia Day Breakfast and Community Awards 2022 on Wednesday morning at the Coorow Swimming Pool and Leeman Foreshore. It was a great way to start the day with catching up with friends and neighbours in great surroundings with a fantastic vibe.
Shire President, Cr Moira Girando spoke of the significance of the day before presenting the Citizen of the Year and Thank a Volunteer Awards which were the important part of Australia Day celebrations. Whilst in Leeman, Cr Vic Oakes presented the Citizen of the Year and welcomed the 4 new Citizens to our Australian family.

The Shire is very fortunate to have so many community-minded people who are willing to give their time and energy to supporting the wider community. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate the volunteers in our community and celebrate together with us. Hope it encourages people of all ages to help where they can so our Shire can remain strong and be an inviting place to live.
In Coorow, delicious breakfast were cooked and prepared by our Shire President, Moira Girando, amazing volunteers Steve Girando and Kelvin Bean. While the Leeman Green Head CRC along with their amazing volunteers organised the Australia Day in Leeman. Massive thank you to these wonderful people - pool manager Gavin, Glenis, Darryl and Shirley, Gary, Pete, Shannon, and Brenda who have made the work go faster and easier, also Coorow CRC for assisting in preparation and lending us their lectern. Well done to everyone who involved on this special day.



4. LEEMAN COMMUNITY FRESCO 2022

Reconnect WA initiative.
